MakeUGC Review (2026): Is It Worth It for AI UGC Ads?

MakeUGC review (2026): AI UGC ads, 1000+ AI actors, product-in-hand, $59 Start up pricing, $1 trial, credits, and who should skip it. No hands-on generation tests.

By Moon PickePublished Oct 5, 2026Our review process

This MakeUGC review is a 2026 buyer briefing from the live homepage, pricing page (monthly, quarterly, annually, and API tabs), Talking Actor / Product-in-Hand / Custom Avatar / B-roll / Gestures / Languages / AI Workflows pages, Platform API docs, Terms of Service (effective 17 November 2025), Fair Use Policy (11 July 2025), Custom Avatar Policy (11 July 2025), Refund Policy (4 September 2025), and $1 Trial Policy (2 January 2026). Research date: 5 October 2026. Moon Picke did not upload products, train avatars, generate ads, or score lip sync or packaging fidelity. For the wider AI-video map, see the published best AI video generators roundup.

MakeUGC is a script-to-AI-actor studio for UGC-style video ads: write a script, pick (or clone) an AI presenter, optionally put a product in the actor’s hand, generate with named models such as Seedance 2.5, then edit captions, music, and B-roll. It is not a cinematic raw text-to-video model and it is not authentic customer UGC.

Quick verdict

MakeUGC (homepage: “Create AI UGC Video Ads in Minutes”) is a browser SaaS for creator-style paid-social ads aimed at e-commerce brands, apps, agencies, and SaaS teams. Best for performance marketers who want stock AI actors (marketed as 1000+ on homepage and Platform cards; API Starter still prints 500+), product-image or URL input, product-in-hand shots, AI scripts, and HD/2K/4K export—not for L&D presenters or faceless YouTube factories. Paid Platform starts at Start up $59/month (500 credits). Annual Start up is $29/month equivalent, billed annually. There is no free plan. There is a $1 trial (“Start for $1” on every Platform card; checkout paths labeled trial72h). Unlimited model generations do not start on the $1 trial. Core loop: script → avatar → generate (credits by model, duration, resolution). Biggest advantage: UGC-ad specialization (actors, product-in-hand, library recreate, batch on Growth+). Biggest limitation: credits do not roll over; each generation spends credits; commercial rights on Fair Use require a valid paid subscription; AI actors are not real customers. Buy if you will spend credits on UGC-style ads. Skip if you need a free plan, authentic testimonials, or exact packaging QA without a human check.

What is MakeUGC?

MakeUGC is a cloud web app (login at app.makeugc.ai) for UGC-style advertising video. Homepage workflow copy is explicit: “Write your script -> Pick an avatar -> Generate video.” Terms of Service (17 November 2025) name Cinnamon Technology Limited (company 15351712). Fair Use, Custom Avatar, and Trial policies name Make Media Limited (trial policy company 15632662). The site address is 45 Fitzroy Street, Fitzrovia, London. Moon Picke records both legal names as printed and does not independently reconcile them.

Vendor positioning (product-overview page, labeled as retrieval reference) targets DTC e-commerce, performance media buyers, agencies, and solopreneurs running paid acquisition on Meta, TikTok, and YouTube. That is vendor copy, not a Moon Picke performance audit. iOS/Android/desktop apps as primary products: NOT LISTED. help.makeugc.ai DNS failed in this pass. API docs loaded at makeugc.ai/docs/api.

What “AI UGC” means here

In MakeUGC, “UGC” means ads that look like creator phone videos—hooks, talking heads, products in frame—produced by generative models and AI actors. It does not mean a real customer filmed your product. Fair Use lists “avatar-led testimonials” as a content type the platform can generate. Advertisers remain responsible for truthful claims, endorsement rules, platform ad policies, and AI disclosures. Do not pass an AI actor off as a genuine customer. Custom Avatar Policy forbids falsifying identities or misrepresenting AI-generated avatars as real individuals.

How MakeUGC works

Public paths: (1) talking actor from a script; (2) product-in-hand from an image or URL plus lines; (3) custom avatar from an authorized speaking clip; (4) generative B-roll; (5) Content Library recreate with your product image and dialog; (6) AI Workflows node canvas; (7) Platform API. Editing is captions, music, B-roll, and trims—not an NLE. PDF-to-video and Video Agent sit on the Pro card. Batch Mode sits on Growth. Parallel generation: up to 10 videos and 10 images. Treat the first render as a draft: check claims, likeness consent, packaging, captions, and translated lip sync. Recreating a library ad does not license a competitor’s claims.

MakeUGC’s AI actors / avatars

Homepage and Platform cards: 1000+ realistic AI actors / creators. API Starter still prints 500+ realistic AI creators. Product-overview copy also uses 500+. Moon Picke publishes 1000+ as the live homepage/Platform figure and flags the 500+ lines as a conflict. Do not treat 1000+ as an audited inventory of exactly one thousand files. Styles shown: photoreal talking-head presenters in UGC-like rooms. Gestures page: smile, nod, or hand wave. Full motion control: re-create an avatar performing the same movements (source vs re-creation UI). Stock actors are synthetic presenters, not hired creators and not your customers.

Custom avatar / digital twin: upload a short speaking clip under good lighting; the page says the system learns look, voiceprint, and gestures. You must have lawful authority or signed consent. Do not clone celebrities, coworkers, or scraped faces. Extra cost for custom avatars beyond the subscription: NOT LISTED as a separate SKU on the captured Platform cards. Processing time is marketed as “a few minutes,” which is vendor copy, not a Moon Picke lab.

MakeUGC custom avatar upload short video train look voiceprint gestures
Official custom-avatar steps, 5 October 2026.

Product input and product placement

Product-in-hand is a named feature, not a side hobby. The official steps: upload a product image or paste a URL, pick a clear frame, write what the person should say and describe motion/lighting, then generate. File and Google Drive toggles appear in the marketing UI. Shopify-specific or Amazon-ASIN importers: NOT LISTED on that page. URL here is documented as a way to fetch a product image, not as “scrape any PDP into a complete brand kit.”

Product holding is the marketed outcome: “Let any AI actor naturally hold and present your product on camera.” Official examples show cans, pouches, and bottles in hand. Moon Picke did not benchmark logo fidelity, label text, color, or shape. If packaging text is legally required on ads, plan a human QA pass. Product try-on as apparel virtual fitting is not a separate SKU; clothing is marketed as “Actors that wear your clothing.” Green-screen avatars over B-roll appear in a homepage testimonial—that is a user quote, not a named try-on engine.

Script generation and ad hooks

You can type a custom script. Platform cards list unlimited AI scripts. The gestures marketing UI shows an “AI Script writer” control, a credits readout, and a gestures dropdown. The gestures page also markets “7 AI agents for AI ads: recreate TikTok/Facebook, generate hooks/briefs/scripts, translate, and upload.” Named frameworks such as AIDA or PAS: NOT LISTED as product SKUs on the captured pages. Do not call generated scripts high-converting. Testimonial-style reads are still advertising claims you must stand behind.

AI voices, cloning, and lip sync

Talking actors speak the script. Languages page: 50+ languages with native voices and marketed lip-sync. Exact voice inventory: NOT LISTED. Enterprise collaboration row names ElevenLabs voice integration. Custom avatar trains a voiceprint from your upload—that is cloning of an authorized voice, not a license to clone strangers. Lip sync is implied by talking actors and marketed as “perfect” on feature pages; Moon Picke did not score it. Product-overview copy recommends keeping scripts under 60–90 seconds to reduce lip-sync drift—that is vendor guidance, not a plan max we independently timed.

How MakeUGC generates video

MakeUGC is a multi-model UGC renderer, not a single cinematic T2V box. Public pricing names Seedance 2.5, Nano Banana 2, and Nano Banana Pro, with HD/2K/4K export and “all the latest image models” on paid Platform cards. Start up lists “Selected models”; Growth and Pro list “all AI models.” A product-overview page also mentions Veo, Sora, and Kling variants as architecture examples; those names are not printed on the captured pricing cards, so this review does not treat them as current SKUs. “Text-to-video” here means script + actor + generated or composited scenes. “Image-to-video” means a product or scene image becomes motion (product-in-hand, B-roll), not a generic I2V playground.

Credits: each generation costs a set number of credits depending on model, duration, and resolution. Credits refresh each billing cycle and do not roll over. Regeneration after a failed or disliked output is another generation unless a doc says otherwise—NOT VERIFIED as a free retry. Unlimited (supported models, standard queue) starts only after the $1 trial ends and the first full billing cycle begins. Credits always use the priority queue. Peak-hour Unlimited speed/concurrency may vary.

B-roll, library, workflows, editing

B-roll feature: upload an image or paste a URL, describe scene/motion, generate a clip. Editor card: Text, Music, B-roll tabs plus trims. Content Library: browse formats by niche/style, add product image and dialog, recreate. AI Workflows: canvas with Image, Text, LLM, Generate Image, Generate Video nodes and starter pipelines (mobile app video, Pixar-style ads, product in hand). Brand kit as a named colors/fonts SKU: NOT LISTED on Platform cards (workflows mention brand assets). Music is in the editor; royalty-free/ad-safe labels: NOT LISTED on those cards.

Social formats, export, resolution, watermarks

Platform logos (TikTok on the homepage) are not Meta/TikTok Ads Manager integrations. Export is marketed for watching/uploading ads. Overview page names MP4. Aspect ratios (9:16, 1:1, 16:9): NOT LISTED on captured pricing cards even though homepage examples look vertical. Duration: no public max clip on those cards; overview suggests 60–90 second scripts. Resolution: HD, 2K, 4K on Platform cards. Watermark: NOT LISTED separately for trial vs paid. Direct ad-platform publish: NOT LISTED as an integration; gestures copy mentions an upload agent.

MakeUGC pricing in 2026

Pricing, credits and plan limits were checked on 5 October 2026 and may change. Check MakeUGC’s current pricing before purchasing. Live cards also showed a 24-hour Seedance/Nano Banana promo banner; treat promo Unlimited windows separately from the list ladder.

No free plan. $1 trial on Platform cards (Start for $1). Trial Policy (2 January 2026): one trial per person or legal entity; abuse can trigger immediate full monthly charge. Unlimited does not start on the $1 trial. Checkout URLs on the homepage used trial72h-startup-59-m, trial72h-growth-79-m, and trial72h-pro-149-m—consistent with a 72-hour monthly trial path, not a forever $1 plan.

Start up — $59/month month-to-month (struck $89 on the card), 500 credits, 1000+ creators, 50+ languages, selected models. Annual: $29/month equivalent, billed annually. Quarterly: $41/month equivalent, billed quarterly.

Growth — $79/month (struck $119), 1,000 credits, all AI models, Batch Mode. Annual: $39/month equivalent, billed annually. Quarterly: $55/month equivalent, billed quarterly.

Pro — list $149/month; the captured monthly card showed a $1 first-cycle promo that renews at $149. 2,000 credits (slider 2,000 / 3,000 / 5,000), product-in-hand, Video Agent & PDF to Video. Annual: $79/month equivalent, billed annually. Quarterly: $104/month equivalent, billed quarterly.

Enterprise — custom. Slack, creative strategist, API, 1-on-1 calls, ElevenLabs, AI scripting, AI media buyer, custom workflows, SLA, priority queue.

API Starter — $99/month (struck $149), 2,000 credits, 500+ creators. API Pro — $299/month (struck $449), 6,000 credits, higher concurrency, priority queue. API Enterprise: talk to sales.

Auto-renew yes; cancel in account settings through period end. Extra credits: upgrade or credit packs (FAQ). Refund Policy: 3 business days for 100% if credits not substantially used; 50% refund if under 50% credits used; none if ≥50% used, over two weeks active, or older than one month. ToS also says payments are non-refundable except where required by law. Prefer reading both documents at checkout.

How credits work

Credits are the capacity unit. FAQ: cost depends on model, duration, and resolution; unused credits expire at month end; packs add instantly. A universal “$X per video” is not defensible because those three variables move. Moon Picke calculation (stated assumptions only): if a clip hypothetically cost 100 credits, Start up’s 500 credits would fund five such clips for $59 that month ≈ $11.80 of allotment per clip—100 credits per video is not an official public figure on the captured FAQ, so treat that math as an illustration of the meter, not a quote from MakeUGC.

Which MakeUGC plan makes sense?

Use the $1 trial only if you accept Trial Policy limits and that Unlimited is off. Start up if selected models and 500 credits are enough. Growth if you need all models and Batch. Pro if you need product-in-hand, Video Agent, PDF-to-video, or the 2k+ slider—and read whether you are on $1 promo or $149 list. API tiers if you are integrating, not clicking the editor. Enterprise if you need Slack/SLA/strategist. Confirm the live card after any 24-hour banner expires.

Commercial use, AI actors, and ad disclosure

ToS: you own Output generated while complying with Terms; MakeUGC assigns copyrights in Output and grants a perpetual licence to commercialise it, while you remain responsible for third-party IP inside that Output. Fair Use: outputs are licensed for commercial use only with a valid paid subscription; free-tier users are not entitled to commercial rights. Trial is paid $1, not a named free plan—do not assume trial files are ad-ready. Music/stock inside scenes are not a blanket copyright-free grant. Likeness: no impersonation; custom avatars need consent. You must not omit legally required AI disclosures. Vendor homepage ROAS quotes are not Moon Picke results.

Strengths

  1. Clear UGC-ad positioning (script → actor → generate) rather than generic T2V.
  2. 1000+ stock actors on homepage/Platform plus custom twin from your footage.
  3. Product-in-hand from image or URL is a first-class workflow.
  4. Editor includes captions, music, B-roll, and trims.
  5. 50+ languages marketed; Growth batch; Pro Video Agent/PDF; public API.
  6. Named models (Seedance 2.5, Nano Banana) and HD/2K/4K on cards.
  7. Annual vs monthly prices actually change on the toggle ($29 / $39 / $79 equivalents).

Limitations

  1. No free plan; $1 trial is promotional, one-per-entity, Unlimited off.
  2. Credits expire; generation cost varies; regen not documented as free.
  3. Actor-count copy conflicts (1000+ vs 500+).
  4. Product fidelity, lip sync, and “perfect” language are untested here.
  5. Aspect ratio and watermark not listed on captured cards.
  6. AI UGC cannot replace real-customer proof or legal review.

MakeUGC vs TheInfluencer.ai: what’s the difference?

Both sell AI people for UGC-style clips. Moon Picke’s published TheInfluencer.ai review (2026 research: Starter $19/month, 100 credits, 5-second Starter cap, no named free plan) is an AI-influencer image + short clip tool. MakeUGC is an ad-studio UGC renderer: 1000+ talking actors, product-in-hand, Seedance-class generation, Batch, API, Start up $59/month (or $1 trial into that ladder). TheInfluencer is cheaper to open and shorter at Starter; MakeUGC is built around product ads, scripts, and credit-metered renders. Choose TheInfluencer if you need a low-cost influencer persona and 5-second tests; choose MakeUGC if the job is a product-holding UGC ad with an editor. This is not a full versus page. TheInfluencer commercial link: theinfluencer.ai/?via=jacky.

Who should use MakeUGC?

  • DTC and e-commerce teams testing UGC-style ads.
  • Agencies and performance marketers who will QA claims and packaging.
  • Teams that need product-in-hand and many actor looks.
  • Builders who want the public API (avatars, PiH, library).

Start MakeUGC if this is your UGC-ad workflow

Who should skip MakeUGC?

  • Buyers who need a free plan.
  • Brands that must show a real customer using the product.
  • Cinematic T2V / NLE / L&D / faceless education channels.
  • Anyone wanting unauthorized likeness or voice clones.
  • Teams that cannot manually QA labels and ad claims.

FAQ

What is MakeUGC?

A UK-operated SaaS that turns scripts, product images/URLs, and AI actors into UGC-style video ads.

Is MakeUGC free?

No free plan. There is a $1 trial. Unlimited features wait until after the trial and first full cycle.

How much does MakeUGC cost?

Start up $59/month, Growth $79/month, Pro list $149/month (promo $1 then $149). Annual equivalents $29 / $39 / $79 billed annually. API $99 / $299 per month.

Is MakeUGC worth it?

If you will spend credits on UGC-style product ads. Not if you needed real testimonials or a free tier.

What is an AI UGC video here?

A synthetic creator-style ad, not organic customer content.

Does MakeUGC use AI actors?

Yes. 1000+ on homepage/Platform cards; API Starter still says 500+.

Can I upload my own product?

Yes—image or URL on the product-in-hand flow. Exact packaging fidelity is untested here.

Can MakeUGC generate scripts and variations?

Yes: unlimited AI scripts on cards, AI Script writer, Batch on Growth. Not the same as ads-manager A/B tests.

Does MakeUGC add a watermark?

NOT LISTED on captured plan cards.

Can MakeUGC videos be used commercially?

ToS assigns Output rights if you complied; Fair Use requires a valid paid subscription for commercial licensing. You still own legal risk for claims, music, and likeness. No impersonation.

Final verdict: is MakeUGC worth it?

MakeUGC makes most sense if you produce UGC-style product ads and will stay inside the credit meter with human QA. It is less compelling if you need a free plan, authentic customers, or cinematic T2V.

Its strongest differentiator is the UGC-ad stack: 1000+ actors, product-in-hand, library recreate, batch, and named generative models. Its biggest limitation is that credits expire, the $1 door is a trial with Unlimited off, and AI actors are not proof.

At current list prices ($59 Start up / $79 Growth / $149 Pro, 5 October 2026), start only if the trial policy is acceptable, then pick Start up unless you need Growth batch or Pro product-in-hand. Recheck live cards and Fair Use before you run ads. Moon Picke did not generate test videos.
